Life's raw

He walked thru the night searching for a woman, holding an infant covered in the only coat he has. Its loud crying is lulled by the downpour, hes drenched completely, but still searching. He found a woman taking shed in a small corner in front of a closed shutter of a shop. He walked towards her, all the noise of the downpour dnt matter to him except for the cries of the child. He dnt plead the woman, he took shade and showed her the infant. His eyes gleamed drops water but his mouth was mute. She seemed to be stranded he thought, she took the child went to a step nearby and fed it. He dnt know at wat age she was, he dnt know he just looked away and up, to the heavens. She came back, the infant was fast asleep by now, he just folded his hands , with tears washed away in the rain. Till then a vehicle came crashing through the lane and stopped right beside them. He thought maybe she had called for help, or asked someone to pick her up. She handed the child to him and gave him a towel, from her bag. She went and sd something to a person in the car. He thought maybe he cud ask her to drop him somewhere nearby but something in him stopped him from doing that. She just got in and the car moved alil ahead turned of the lights and stationed itself, shadows of the woman and the man played in between the high beams of the moving traffic . he cudnt believe his eyes, this woman existed, he shut it up to stop the upsurge of a tsunami hitting the brim. Weird ways of the world, life is raw, beyond sight, within sight beyond shouts and silences. He just sat there in the overwhelm of the witness. Here he was holding an infant he picked up from a garbage bin hearing it's cries searching just for simple food. He dnt know how to help but he cudnt leave it there..He went to homes, begged to everyone on the road..No one in the so called civilised society paid heed... he had lost all faith in the epitome of what he was taught..And he met this woman who had to sell her flesh for meeting the ends, and she embraced...And without saying a word left for her client...It would take eons & light-years to accept the immensity of life. Moments later, the same car pulled back to where he was, she signalled him to get in. He learned later, she had bargained a ride for him home from her client.. moments of exasperation, he dnt know the child he was holding nor the woman, nor did he know what next..He remained staring at the viper on the windshield wiping away the rain drops..
